HK National Day

october 1 marks HK's national day. festivities like flag raising at the HKCEC and the not-to-miss fireworks display will be held along victoria harbour. people, including me, will flock tsim sha tsui viewing area and/or the hk convention center to give themselves a good view of the 23-minute showcase. poor mother nature once again carries the burden of pollution. boy, did i experience that last chinese new year. smoke everywhere! tsk tsk! wrong location.

anyways, another holiday here! keep it coming. haha in china (shenzhen is still china right?) they have 1-week holiday for this, if i remember it correctly. woah! if this is true in hk, i would be in manila right now. haha

mid-autumn holiday

today is "mooncake festival" or "lantern festival" or mid-autumn festival. whichever way you refer to it, what's important for me is it is holiday. haha rest day. yeah, i know, im such a bum! i learned that it's one of the two most important Chinese holidays (aside from the lunar new year). i remember people gathering round Victoria Park to witness the moon at its fullest and brightest. lanterns lit the surroundings and local delicacies are sold. in the office, we partake mooncake slices. and that 1/8 slice is still 'big' for me. heck, it's kinda sweet for me. something like it's too tasty and packed that il be so full after eating it.

shoes, they are

like a typical girl, i like (window) shopping for shoes. and this one caught my eye. interesting. they may be a feast to eyes - something unique, but i wonder what it feels like to wear them. you're heels are literally hanging in the air. no support. these pieces come from junko shimada, a japanese designer settled in paris.

never too early to book a flight for the holidays

i just saw cebupacific flying from manila to macau.
after several visits and giving myself false hopes that the fare would still take a downslide, an idea came to mind. hk-macau-manila and back. why not?! i just have to add 2 more hours and 200hkd to my airfare. i dont have definite plans for the holidays yet. worst case, i'll sulk in my room for the whole duration of the season. hehe iwas gastos ba?
