iphone 4-3-2-1

feels good to be back.. with an iphone4 in tow. wahahaha no la! i know i've been continuously checking out apple store for a possible shortened shipping time, but to no avail. you will definitely have to wait around 3 weeks to get a hold of this gem (except of course, if you're 1 of those who pre-ordered from your mobile provider). however, i read that those who ordered online during the 1st week of its release can now expect theirs to be delivered by week of aug16, still ahead of scheduled aug 23. still, people are still frustrated with TNT, international courier, because they were told that delivery should have been aug 12. whatda?!?! can't they wait? they've waited long enough anyways.. plus, it's still ahead of the targetted aug23 delivery. jeez, some people are just impatient. currently the shipment is in SZ which is just a border , KCR, away from hongkong. i guess they feel that it's already here.. just within their reach.. and why can't the courier move the phones over to hongkong. oh well, hopefully TNT move their a$$es over the weekend, deliver the phone to appease their eager owners.

moving on, im seriously thinking of getting an iphone4 coz all my phones are hand-me-downs haha. i guess it's time for a change. it's time i buy my own. double haha for this. BUT, here goes apple again... rumor has it that iTouch will have its own retina display and camera. whatda!?!? that's what i was actually waiting for. hmmm... now what?!?! THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING. AGAIN.

the korean chopsticks

one dinner time at a friend's house, i noticed that instead of the usual wooden chopsticks, he used a steel, flat, tapered pair with ornate design at the top. it was my first time to see this kind so i commented on it... it turned out.. it was korean chopsticks!

now, what do you know?!?! i tried using it, and found it a bit harder to use. the flat surface somewhat restrains the fingers (especially, if you don't know how to use at all, i think). but they say the purpose is to easily handle food, even by just sticking through it or even deboning a fish effortlessly. whatever reason it is, i told myself that i should buy one. as i read, this is the primary reason for the flat, tapered end compared with the rounded, ivory ones of the chinese chopsticks.
as part of food etiquette, rice and soup are normally eaten with the spoon while the rest are eaten with the chopsticks. each utensil is also used one at a time unlike a normal spoon and fork where one is held on the left and right. i havent bought my own chinese chopsticks maybe it's because they abound everywhere hahaha but with this korean ones, i guess i'll have to scour some specialty shops to get my hands on them.

getting ready for dxb

i've been trying to go home early the past 2 days to prepare for my holy week sojourn.  i seem to always find ways to buy things especially when im going for a trip.  why can't i just buy them way before and not cram the shopping in a few days?!?!  hmm.. i guess that's the fun part of it.  knowing i can buy with just a wave of the plastic, rationalizing that i NEED that item, more than WANTING it. hahaha in a span of 2 days, i managed to buy a luggage bag, sturdy and classic-looking enough.  i bought this gray, echolac bag with lock.  it's on sale in JUSCO but still a little expensive than the pierre cardin, elle bags on display.  i opted for this coz it looks classy (hindi pala classic hahaha) and strong for me to carry around or should i say, whenever i happen to lazily transport it on a plight of stairs thus, bumping it's wheels, scratching its body on the ground.  i also bought some pistachios, which my sis loves so much.  bought some HK pasalubong to my fwends in the hopes that they'll like it.  hehehe gotta travel light!

getting my own chucks

my very recent purchase is my converse "chucks" all-stars. most people here in hk own a pair, or at least something like it. i believe it's high time that i bought rubber shoes coz it's been ages since i last bought one. the one im using now is a nike owned by rose. pathetic haha besides being uso here, it's also cheap. i bought the leather kind, as what my fwend said. i didnt know it was that basta i went for quality and design lang. well, the price got steeper as it moves up that scale.

the next day, i had a break-in and it works well for me. took it for a LONG walk and twas all good. the following afternoon though, it rained and so i had it all wet with my denim jeans staining it with color on the all-stars logo at the back. *sigh*

songs in my mind

coming back from manila, i realized i need to update myself with the latest songs playing on the airwaves and latest music videos plaguing the channels. i still have that last song(s) syndrome.

WITH YOU by chris brown

BECAUSE OF YOU by ne-yo
i have always favored ne-yo since i first heard SO SICK.

maybe it's time i get my own mp3 player.. i know! SO pathetic! im thinking the more popular APPLE iPod -- shuffle or nano, or something from the CREATIVE line or the minimalist SONY walkman. i want good quality, easy to use, easy to carry, something that will reflect my sense of style (nakng!) and of course, light on the pocket. guess, i'll be preparing my comparison table to decide which one.

nothing is definite. for all i know, i may be buying a digicam instead. haha

in baguio: a short sojourn

my family and i were headed to baguio country club for an overnight stay. no, we're not members but merely sponsored guests. thanks to lolo pilo, mama's boss and ninong, we got to feel the ambience of this exclusive club. actually, we rarely stay in the hotel except to eat and rest as we are pressed with time in sightseeing baguio.

however, we managed to visit lourdes grotto, go to burnham park, shop at baguio city market where mama (as usual) bought "baguio" shirts for everyone in the family, shot poses in the mansion, wright park, mine's view park, camp john hay and kennon road view deck.

pichur pichurs here!!!

world's largest malls

philippines is one hub you don't wanna miss especially if you're a mallrat. hehe i read in this article that our very own 7,107 islands houses 3 of the largest malls in the world. asia, where land and labor cost are cheaper compared to other continents, it's not surprising that structures of this kind abound its space.

mall of asia - truly lives up to its name. though i have only been here 2x and only for a total of 2-3 hrs visit, i know i havent scoured every store. it will take me X visits to do this. what is X?

sm megamall - this dominant structure along edsa is what i usually frequent before especially when they 3-day sale! goodness, imagine me squeezing through those throngs of people to get a measly 10% discount on my fave jeans. haha

sm north edsa - i learned to liked this mall again because it has reinvented itself. with The Block adding to its classic ShoeMart label. technically, it has the basic things you need. (i just don't like the cinemas) but adding a lil upgrade won't hurt.

malls to visit: trinoma, greenbelt 5, (i heard glorietta 5 will rise soon?), greenhills promenade (ba un?) anything, este anywhere else?

post christmas walk: TST, wanchai, causeway bay

i went to tsim sha tsui (TST) to window shop, see the decors of the harbour city mall. and i wasn't disappointed. hk's largest mall boasts of lights and decors upon entering the path to the mall entrance from the star ferry. there are LOTS of people cramming to pose with the varied ornaments on display. i didnt have the patience so i went on with my window shopping. i passed by the anna sui section, and as always.. loved the fragrance of secret wish. i was planning to buy this for the longest time (along with DnG light blue) but i still have some other perfumes in stock. i went to zara and found this chic piece of black 3/4 overcoat priced @ 399hkd. hmm... and so i put it back on the rack. haha i have my eyes on you, sweetie. off i went window shopping. literally. coz i dont enter the shop unless i think im capable of buying something from that store since most shops are designer labels. haha

zsa says
outside harbour city i took a short video of high-end brands that line up along canton road. i walked and walked. and saw a slightly familiar face(s) -- kids of zsa zsa padilla. incidentally, i read her blog in PEP and learned that they're in hk for a few days. with them is a man, mang dolphy i presume. his face was slightly hidden from my view. and then in a small alley, in a money exchange shop is zsa zsa. i would have wanted to have my pic taken but my feet were faster than my decision-making skills. i was kinda starstruck so i called mama. as expected, "sayang naman" daw. if she's here, she would've dragged me to have HER picture together with dolphy and zsa zsa. (i think they stayed in marco polo hongkong hotel which they frequent)

blame it on the DS
i boarded the ferry to wanchai and walked until i reach causeway bay. from there, took the tram on the way home. knowing how SLOW it is to travel via this old jetty, i played mario kart. i was engrossed (an understatement) that i missed my stop! not just one or two but i made it all the way to the end of the tramline! argh! and to my dismay, there's no more tram departing from that stop. my feet were aching by that time but i had to get to the nearest (overnight) bus stop because the MTR is already closed too. sigh... next time.. use your DS wisely.. be alert! ALWAYS!
